HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is a virus that causes genital warts and cervical cancer, which can spread through sexual activity.

GARDASIL 9 Vaccination Schedule
GARDASIL 9 Vaccination schedule for children according to Indonesian Pediatric Society recommendations
• Ages 9-14 years: 2 doses given with an interval of 5-13 months.
• Ages 15-45 years: 3 doses given with an interval of 0, 2, 6 months.
GARDASIL 9 Vaccination schedule for adults
• Administered in 3 doses with an interval of 0, 2, 6 months.

Composition of GARDASIL 9 Vaccine
Each dose (0.5 mL) contains:
L1 protein of HPV type 6, L1 protein of HPV type 11, L1 protein of HPV type 16, L1 protein of HPV type 18, L1 protein of HPV type 31, L1 protein of HPV type 33, L1 protein of HPV type 45, L1 protein of HPV type 52, L1 protein of HPV type 58, amorphous aluminum hydroxy phosphate sulfate adjuvant.

Side Effects of GARDASIL 9 Vaccine
Headache, dizziness, nausea, fever, pain or swelling, redness at the injection site.

Contraindication of GARDASIL 9 Vaccine
• Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the vaccine.
• History of severe allergy to previous Gardasil or Gardasil 9 vaccines.

Special Attention for GARDASIL 9 Vaccine
• Vaccination should be postponed in individuals experiencing fever or acute infection.
• Vaccination along with cervical cancer screening or pap smear will reduce the risk of further cervical cancer.
• HPV vaccination cannot improve existing cancer lesions.
• Individuals undergoing strong immunosuppressive therapy, genetic defects, or HIV may not respond to the vaccine.
