Measles, Mumps, Rubella
MMR II
MMR II is a combination vaccine used to prevent Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (German measles). It contains live attenuated viruses that stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies
Benefits of MMR II
This vaccine helps prevent Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (German measles), which are transmitted through close contact with infected individuals, primarily via saliva droplets released when coughing or sneezing.
Measles can cause widespread red rashes over the body, coughing, runny nose, eye irritation, and fever.
Mumps may result in fever, muscle pain, and swelling of the parotid (salivary) glands in the neck.
Rubella causes red rashes throughout the body, accompanied by fever and joint inflammation.
Measles infection can lead to seizures, brain damage, and death.
Mumps infection may cause hearing loss, scrotal swelling, and meningitis.
Rubella infection during pregnancy can cause serious fetal abnormalities known as Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS).
