Tetanus

TETAGAM

Tetanus is a serious disease that affects the nervous system. It is caused by the toxin-producing bacteria Clostridium tetani, which usually enters the body through open wounds. Symptoms may include muscle contractions, especially in the jaw and neck muscles, and can lead to death.

Benefits of TETAGAM Vaccine
Anti-tetanus or Tetanus Immune Globulin (TIG) is used to prevent or treat tetanus infection. Anti-tetanus contains immunoglobulin or tetanus antibodies in large quantities. These tetanus antibodies are derived from human blood plasma that has been screened and the virus has been inactivated. Anti-tetanus works by supplying the antibodies needed by the body to protect itself from tetanus infection (passive protection). This passive protection will persist in the body until the body can create its own antibodies to fight tetanus.
